Therapeutic Breast Massage

What is therapeutic breast massage?

Massage therapy is an effective and therapeutic treatment for breasts, as breasts particularly need good circulation and tissue mobilization for optimum health. Poor circulation can produce various uncomfortable symptoms such as mastitis – inflammation or infection in the breast tissue. Breast scarring which can be surgically and traumatically induced is more common and can cause painful syndromes and obstruct blood and lymph flow. There may be a correlation between chronic poor breast drainage and susceptibility to malignancy.

I have had been blessed with the opportunity to support many women’s breast health issues over the years and it is important to me to share the gift of breast massage with those in need of treatment.

Therapeutic breast massage is indicated for many reasons:

  • the newly menstruating breast
  • the newly pregnant breast
  • the working / milk producing breast
  • the menopausal breast
  • post breast reduction
  • post breast implants
  • post mastectomy / lumpectomy
  • post “top surgery” / breast removal

Our soft tissues are meant to be mobile in order to allow for the dynamic flow of blood/lymph/nerve conduction through the body. Therapeutic massage is an incredible self care tool that encourages body consciousness.
