Treating Patients from Out of Town

Message from Dr. Adam McLeod:

I am excited to announce that I will be able to provide initial visits to cancer patients who are unable to physically travel to my clinical practice in Vancouver, BC. I regularly receive requests from people interested in integrative cancer care who are unable to make it to my clinic. I will now be able to provide care to these patients on a limited basis via phone, Skype or FaceTime only.

An in-person visit is always preferred as this allows for a physical exam and as a physician experienced with cancer somethings are only apparent when you physically meet the person. It is still possible to meet the same high standard of care without physically seeing a patient but it is critical to have adequate records. One thing that is unique to cancer is that most patients have detailed reports and regular physical exams by the cancer agency. This makes it appropriate to develop an integrative treatment plan if all of the required information is obtained beforehand.

It is important to note that distant initial visits (via phone, Skype or FaceTime) are only being done on a limited basis and most patients would benefit more from an in person visit. The initial visit is the same as an in-person appointment, we will go through the entire case history and develop a detailed integrative cancer plan.

I regularly get asked if I still offer energy healing in my practice. I do use energy healing in my practice on select cases but it is never used as a stand alone therapy. In my practice I often combine energy healing with acupuncture to stimulate patients vital energy. These techniques are only used in conjunction with other naturopathic therapies to support patients in their fight against cancer. Energy healing is not included in the initial visit and not offered to all patients. After taking a complete medical history and developing a Naturopathic protocol in the initial appointment, I will then decide with the patient if it is appropriate to include energy healing into the treatment plan. Naturopathic medicine is the primary focus of my practice, not energy medicine.

If you would like to book an appointment then you can send an email to info@yaletownnaturopathic.comDue to overwhelming demand, any bookings for distant initial visits must be done by email. In the email body please include:
